Learning to Unlearn
An Evening with Stacie Graham
The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.
While many of us have developed our practice, we may still find it difficult to put it into action on a daily basis. Caught up in the everyday grind it can be challenging to respond empathetically to others’ lack of awareness. In a society that has established scarcity of money, goods and even emotions, it may feel like a competition to be seen, to feel heard. Stacie will facilitate an evening of movement, breath and discussion to support an un-learning of the scarcity mindset and recognise how that un-learning shifts perspective.
Dr Stacie CC Graham strives to live her practice through action. As the founder of OYA: Body-Mind-Spirit Retreats, a holistic wellness space, she cultivates community and creates spaces in which underserved and undervalued members of society have an opportunity to simply be. Through workshops, different forms of yoga and movement, mindfulness, meditation and more, community members are offered the tools to heal, to let go and to grow.
Stacie is a certified Hatha yoga teacher. During her yoga teacher training in 2014 she studied Buddhist meditation and philosophy with Ringu Tulku Rinpoche in Sikkim India. She is especially interested in developing intersectional practices, which led her to a masterclass on mindfulness and diversity with Rhonda Magee in 2017. She has an MSc in economics and a PhD in psychology and works professionally as a management consultant and serial entrepreneur for change.
